How to Use
Use as the water-resistant, outer layer over organic cotton flat diapers.
This cover can also be paired with other types of absorbencies including pre-folds, pre-flats, and fitted diapers such as Esembly Inners. You can even use diaper inserts if practicing elimination communication.
These snug fitting covers are designed to hold the absorbency in place without the use of diaper pins or a Snappi.
One cover can go weeks without a wash and be reused all day. If the cover is damp after use, let it air dry before using it again.
Use it at night or part-time in rotation with other diapers for a breathable, restorative break from plastic against baby’s sensitive skin. For full-time use, we recommend 3-4 covers in rotation.

Lunapaca has me wishing I had done more research at the beginning of our cloth diaper journey.
Since birth, we've used one size pocket diapers from a different brand. We wanted something we could just grab and snap on that didn't have too much of a learning curve (especially for my husband). That system works well for daytime but since our baby started sleeping through the night we've run into obstacles. Our baby experienced consistent leaks (even in disposables) and persistent diaper rashes due to the overnight wetness. This left us switching to disposables until the rash cleared up (but still dealing with overnight leaks) and so the vicious cycle continued. Multiple people suggested wool covers but honestly the prep work and maintenance turned me off and I thought "there's no way that would contain leaks anyway". While researching wool covers, I came across Lunapaca and was desperate so decided to consider purchasing. I reached out to Lunapaca customer service asking their advice for an overnight diaper setup and they quickly got back to me with their recommendations. Our current overnight setup for our heavy wetter 2 year old sleeping 10-12 hours:
Xl cover
1 hemp insert
2 cotton inserts (pad fold)
1 esembly overnighter (to help reduce moisture on the skin)
Lanolin diaper cream
We have experienced ZERO overnight leaks since using this setup. Occasionally the cover does feel damp in the morning but has never soaked through clothes or bedding. We also no longer have to deal with a diaper rash!
Handwashing the cover is actually super easy and since the inserts are natural fibers there is no need to put them through multiple washes to get them clean (unlike microfiber inserts for example).
If you're on the fence and doubting that this diaper system actually works, just try one cover and one pack of inserts (fitted or flats) and I'm willing to bet you'll change your mind.
I really love these diaper covers. I wanted to go as natural as possible and was sold on them immediately considering every other system I looked at were made from polyester. I love that snaps are brass and that there is no plastic at all on these covers. In my opinion they are worth the price, so soft and durable. Easy to clean and quick drying. I use both the flats and esembly inners and the covers work well with both. I love that I will be able to use these covers for multiple babies
TLDR:
We are a very sensitive skin and rash prone family so we wanted something really breathable and wool wasn't an option for us. LunaPaca uses high quality materials that are hypoallergenic allowing us to reduce the possibility of rashes and hopefully last through multiple children as our family grows.
There are many different reasons people choose to cloth diaper and many variables that go into choosing a cloth diapering system that will be different for each family. My husband and I decided on flats and prefolds mainly due to their customizable fit and quick drying times. I have asthma, eczema, and allergies and my husband is allergic to wool so we just figured plastic diaper covers were our only option. We also purchased a few Esembly outers as well which are lovely, but these LunaPaca covers are just EXTRAORDINARY to us. We prefer them for a few reasons over polyester covers including:
- They are more breathable than plastic diaper covers which helps reduce the possibility rashes. We also got the undyed colors because some fabric dyes can cause my eczema to flare.
- Due to my husbands wool allergy, wool diaper covers weren't an option we wanted to try - plus no lanolin needed for these.
- Natural rubber is more durable than synthetic so these elastics will hopefully last us through multiple babies
- Brass is also more durable than plastic so again hopefully the snaps will last us through multiple children as well. *I read there was an issue previously with the snaps early on in the product history but it seems to have been resolved in the more recent batches*
Overall we felt these diaper covers aligned with our specific needs perfectly and after being able to touch, feel, and test out the cover in person we felt the price was justified so we went all in. We love a good "buy it for life" item and I hope I am able to write back in 5-10 years feeling the same way.

Love these diaper covers, they’re not kidding when they say you only need two or three to start out with, and they fit our 7lb newborn perfectly, very soft, no animal smell, and clean very easily. I’ve had to hand wash and hang dry about three times so far and they dry suuuuper quickly.
Yay! I'm so glad everything is working well for you and your baby. The dry time is such a surprise, especially if you're familiar with wool. Congrats on cloth diapering a newborn -- I hope your review encourages others to give it a try it! Thank you for your review. :)
