How to Use
Alpaca covers can be reused for weeks. Air dry between changes or when damp. Replace the cotton flat every 1-2 hours. Add a hemp booster for longer stretches.
For full-time use:
Recommended covers: 2-3 for daytime + 1 for nighttime
Absorbency needed: 6-12 changes a day
Tip: You can stack pacas with different size covers and use the same absorbency at every stage (for example, 2 medium pacas + 1 large paca = 3 covers with 18 diaper changes)

Sizing
Diaper Cover: Small (6-12 lbs), Medium (12-20 lbs), Large (20-35 lbs), X-Large (30+ lbs)
Please note this assumes a snug fit over a cotton flat. For use with other types of absorbencies or for a looser fit, you may want to size up sooner.
Flats: one-size and measure approximately 28" x 28" inches after accounting for shrinkage.
Hemp Boosters: 11.75" long x 4.5" wide, after washing.
These are the "small" hemp inserts made by Thristies but we like to think of them as "one-size". This size fits wonderfully inside all our covers so you can use the same boosters from birth to potty learning.
Care Guide
Wash before first use.
Soak alpaca cover in cool water for 15 minutes using a gentle wool wash (we like SOAK) every 1-3 weeks as needed or if soiled. Do not agitate cover while it is soaking. Air dry. No bleach.
For cotton and hemp products, machine wash warm for longest cycle using a commercial detergent (not soap). Avoid additives such as fabric softener, optical brighteners, or fragrance as these can reduce absorbency. Regular use of bleach is not recommended. Fill washer between 2/3 and 1/2 full for best results. Dry low heat or line dry to reduce environmental impact. If stiff after line drying, you can place cotton + hemp items in the dryer on low heat with some alpaca dryer balls (not included) for a few minutes to soften them.
Please note that hemp has natural oils which will gradually wash out over time (typically 8-10 wash cycles), making the boosters even more absorbent after this initial period.
After baby begins eating solid food, first remove any solid waste from diapers by plopping into the toilet using toilet paper or the Wipe Away Wand (solid separately) prior to washing.

Why you'll love it
Discover why second-time moms abandon their “modern” plastic diapers for simple, time-tested cotton flats + easy-care alpaca. Simplify cloth diapering with this thoughtfully designed, plastic-free diaper system.
Best for skin
Growing concerns about wearing fabrics made from plastic include skin irritation, chemical exposure, and long term impact of microplastics being absorbed by our biggest organ — the skin.
Most reusable diapers rely on plastic as the water-resistant outer layer which can be rough on baby’s delicate skin, leaving “angry red marks” as the it rubs day and night.
Natural fibers are better for your baby’s skin because these breathable materials reduce moisture buildup, regulate body temperature, and promote skin health by allowing air to circulate more freely.
Many families see persistent diaper rash clear up once they switch to all natural fibers like cotton, hemp, and alpaca.
Moreover, families concerned about wool allergies or skin sensitivity from repeat exposure to lanolin oil, can safely use alpaca.
With our system, only organic cotton and super soft, hypoallergenic alpaca touch baby’s skin. No plastic. No synthetic fiber. No lanolin. The safest choice for your baby’s most sensitive skin and their long term health.
Easiest diapers to clean
Say goodbye to 2+ hour wash routines. By removing water-resistant plastic from the washer and using single-layer cotton flats, it’s easier for water and detergent to pass through the fabric. This results in a deeper and more effective clean in less time than is possible with other styles of reusable diapers. Avoid complications — flats are as easy to wash as your favorite cotton T-shirt.
Alpaca covers simple need a 15 minute soak once every few weeks and dry in half the time as wool.
Best for planet
The faster wash routine and superior dry times means less energy use. A minimalist system by design, you can invest in fewer, better materials that you can use every day.
This system is quite versatile and can serve as more than diapers! The alpaca covers double as bloomers or shorts and cotton flats can be used as burp cloths, changing mat, coverup, hand towel, and more. You'll love these long after diapering days are done.
Moreover, with zero plastic in these products, you can feel good knowing there are no microplastics on baby's skin or emptying into our waterways with each wash cycle.
Give your baby's delicate skin a break from plastic and skip complicated wash routines with this all natural set.

By far, my favorite cloth diaper!
So fond of these diapers and of this company! My little one is medically complex and there is a *lot* of non-negotiable plastic in his life, we like to reduce where we can. I’d looked into cloth diapering before but was discouraged by the amount of plastic (and the intense level of maintenance) involved. We were thrilled to find a plastic-free option and I’m so happy we went for it! The diapers are *beautiful* and I love wrapping my little man in something so soft and breathable. It turned our million tube-fed diaper changes into a nurturing routine. Maintenance is as breezy as they claim. Compression leaks can be an issue, but it just takes finding the right combination of inners and being mindful of changing quickly. For us, totally worth it. On top of a really great product, I reached out about a storage/cleaning concern and Theresa responded in such a warm, helpful, and prompt manner that I instantly felt reassured! I one million percent recommend Lunapaca.
Lunapaca helped me fall in love with cloth diapering!
Before having my first baby, I thought about using cloth diapers. At first I was too worried about learning and the washing so we used disposables. Once my son got a bad rash, I did a deep dive into truly clean disposable diapers and found they don't really exist.
I was so discouraged until I found Lunapaca. At first I thought I would just try it and do it part time. So I ordered the Try A Paca bundle and immediately fell in love!
We did have an issue with a snap coming off the cover within the first few hours of use. But the owner of Lunapaca, Theresa, was so quick to make it right. She truly stands behind her products and I fell even more in love with cloth diapers and Lunapaca.
I ended up ordering another Try A Paca set and am now cloth diapering about 90% of the time.
I highly recommend cloth diapering and especially Lunapaca.
The quality of both the nappies and covers are outstanding. They are super simple to use and care for and w great option for all babies due to the ability to customise the nappies to suit their specific needs. I have tried many different reusable nappies and these are by far my favourite. Enough to pay a ridiculous shipping and customs charge! Highly recommend them.
These covers are so soft and easy to use. I only wish I had found out about them sooner. We’ll be using them from day one with my second!
